Molding Department Manager July 2012 - April 2014

I was hired to modernize the complete manufacturing value stream from raw materials to shipped products.

After I was hired, I found none of their equipment was ever Qualified. I made appropriate changes to QMS and wrote and executed Validation Protocols for all equipment.

Managed all aspects of the molding, assembly, and packaging departments.

Using lean manufacturing and value stream tactics I was able to raise production line efficiency by 47% and profit by a solid 26%, while lowering scrap by 62% for all the departments combined.

Modified standard L-Bar automatic sealing equipment with Teflon coated blades to eliminate seal fail- ures accounted for 45% of the efficiency improvements in packaging.

Production Manager February 2004 - May 2006

This was another empty box start-up company.

I installed all manufacturing equipment, electrical, plumbing and 150-ton chiller station (HVAC certi- fied).

Designed, manufactured, and programmed all automation involved. I made this plant fully automated from raw materials to finished product. The only human interaction was pushing carts from station to station.

Wrote the QMS, SOP Protocols, and SWI's for all manufacturing processes and procedures.

I was one of the developers of the NDMX golf ball and I had consulted on this project after leaving.

Personally, achieved getting two balls including the NDMX PGA approved.

Custom 6 and 4 station ink pad printing were part of the process. I made all my own clichés and ink mixes for perfect photo prints.

Developed processes and procedures for the final Polyurethane coating of the all in an automated spray booth and curing oven combination. Berry \ Landis Phoenix, Arizona

The most valuable part of this course was Mike Sepe's classes where the main studies were molecular composition of plastic materials, proper processing methods, and the application of scientific molding and design of experiments to solve most any processing problem imaginable.
