Professional Summary
I have 5 years of experience in remodeling and lots of other types of construction. I am able to do projects of my own and work on other people's houses too and I am able to do anything that may need to be worked on. I am a salesman right now and in my job I'm able to talk to any managers or assistant managers that I need to, in order to get all my product into every store possible. Underdog Handyman - Myrtle Beach, SC
Contractor's Assistant
I worked in Myrtle Beach South Carolina I helped a contractor remodel a house and do some other odd jobs for a bit over 5 years. We first started on the house by tearing down walls and getting rid of some floors mostly revealing just the studs and the floor joists. I helped do a little bit of everything that goes into remodeling a whole house. Once the demolition was completed, we started with the electrical by running new wiring everywhere in the house and even had to replace the whole panel box. Then we started on doing the plumbing in the house and replacing most of the water lines and existing plumbing that was already there. We put in toilets, showers and sinks, but had to run new plumbing into almost everywhere in the house. I helped install lots of new flooring including tiling and refinishing hardwood floors. After the flooring was all finished we installed drywall on the ceilings and on all of the walls and then had drywall finishers do the taping and sand it down. Then came the painting which we painted about every single room and including some of the ceilings too, and painted most of the trim. Then we started putting up ceiling fans, lights and light switches. I helped with the whole remodel from the very beginning starting with the demolition. Electrical was first then was the plumbing, flooring which included tiling, insulation was done and then drywall, painting and finally installing the lights and switches was the last things to be done. The whole house remodel took about 3 yrs with other jobs in between but I learned a lot doing all the work I did, it really helped me in finding different things to continue working and learning, including projects that I can now do on my own from what I learned during my time down there as a contractor's assistant.
