Position was responsible for regulatory elements of the Blood Bank, and AABB and CAP requirements for Cellular Therapy Processing Laboratory. Duties also include auditing to ensure that the quality management plan is effective. Other responsibilities included preparing two transfusion service laboratories and three off-site transfusion centers for inspections, performing inspections, and reporting regulatory changes to management, and approving all of the Blood Bank, CTPL and ACT documents in the Document Control System, MCN. Work independently with medical staff, laboratory, and other departments to facilitate and implement efforts to maintain compliance and improve safety and quality.

Position was responsible for the operations of the transfusion services and phlebotomy departments. Duties included ensuring that Blood bank was compliant with CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, and FDA regulations. Oversaw 14 blood bank technologists, reviewed antibody work-ups, quality control and maintenance records, trained new staff, oversaw student internships.
