Normandy School District January, 2020 -- May, 2022 -- ESL instructor for grades 1-11, responsible for teaching daily high school classes as well as pull-outs in the lower grades. Designed and modified the curriculum, consulted with faculty and administrators on a regular basis, on-call for parental concerns and questions, served as a language liaison between non- English speaking parents and faculty. Provided this service in person and via Zoom as needed. St. Charles Community College (Cottleville, Missouri) August-December 2019 – Adjunct English Composition instructor responsible for the planning and instruction of the course content to enable students to acquire a much better foundation in grammar and writing skills. I have drawn from many sources in order to promote the correct usage of our language to a wide variety of learners, native as well as non-native speakers of English. Whitfield School (Creve Coeur, Missouri) December 2017 – 2018Long-term substitute position, which has included full responsibility for instructing and testing students in French 1 classes, grades 6 through 10, as well as teaching ESL, English, Spanish and social studies classes. I have introduced new lessons, led discussions, practiced with them to improve oral proficiency and have them gain experience and confidence in their presentations in English and/or French. St. Louis Priory School (Saint Louis, Missouri) 2010-2017 English/ESL/French/Spanish instructor for grades 8-12 (levels II - VI AP). I taught accelerated classes in which the target language was spoken the majority of the time. I arranged presentations of native guest speakers as well as preparations for student excursions to the St. Louis Art Museum for guided tours in French. I enrolled students in the AATF national French contest and produced winners. I hosted visiting teachers from China and Taiwan in my home, as well as toured China and their schools as a foreign guest. I led a group of students on an exchange to France the summer of 2017. Webster Groves High School (Webster Groves, Missouri) 1992-2009 French/Spanish instructor for grades 9-12 (levels II - VI AP) + Remedial English in summer school. I assisted in revising our department's foreign language curriculum guide and submitting our new standards to DESI in Jefferson City. I organized and helped to host student exchanges between France and Webster Groves High School. I enrolled students in the AATF national French contest and produced winners. RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE Served as the St. Louis Local Childcare Coordinator for Cultural Care Au Pair where I interviewed prospective host families, planned monthly meetings with 12-25 young men and women (aged 18-27) from around the world to help ease their transition into American life, and served as a mediator between the au pairs and their host parents when issues arose.
