Relevant Experience .

Holoclara, Los Angeles, CA

Research Associate- Immunology March 2024-Current

•Contributing to the development of a novel orally available drug derived from worms aimed at treating autoimmune diseases, including asthma and eosinophilia.

•Identifying the mechanism of action (MOA) through preclinical studies and experimental research.

•Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and execute in vivo, in vitro, and ex vivo studies.

•Developing and optimizing cellular and molecular assays for drug characterization.

•Conducting organ dissociation, flow cytometry, and Western blotting to evaluate immune responses and signaling pathways.

•Documenting experimental procedures and outcomes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reproducibility.

•Providing insights on experimental design and data analysis to enhance study protocols and drug development.

Zymo Research, Irvine, CA

Laboratory Technician- Microbiology March 2023-March 2024

•Leading the new Full-Length 16S and Metagenome Assembly Sequencing services on the Microbiomics Team

•Documenting all data diligently, keeping track of customer samples and reagent inventory, organizing sequencing runs, and conducting QC on runs.

•Conducting R&D on service workflow to optimize best results for sequencing.

•Handling customer inquiries, creating quotes and sales orders, and requesting proper documentation to ensure smooth sample submission process for customers.

Chapman School of Pharmacy, Irvine, CA June-December 2022

Student Researcher – Immunology

•Investigated how Kaposi Sarcoma Herpesvirus (KSHV) enters a human host by infection of cells in the oral lymphoid tissues.

•Developed new SOP for infection and staining of primary B cell lymphocyte analysis.

•Separated human B lymphocytes using the Robsep and carried out human B-lymphocyte staining of cells to identify viable B cells.

•Infected B lymphocytes from human tonsils to determine the viral and cellular genes involved in early infection events.

•Extracted DNA from tonsil lymphocytes and ran RT-PCR to determine whether samples were natively infected.

•Analyzed data and identified cells using flow cytometry and FloJo software to help determine where infection of the cells was successful.

Chapman University, Orange, CA

Student Researcher – Biochemistry & Molecular Biology June 2022-March 2023

•Demonstrated originality and creativity in resolving research challenges.

•Extracted DNA from 200 overly processed food samples using 4 different DNA extraction methods to determine which was the most effective at extracting DNA of processed foods.

•Carried out PCR and gel electrophoresis on each of the samples and sequenced and analyzed products from PCR using BLAST.

•Quantified DNA samples using Nanodrop, Qubit, and Biophotometer.

Chapman University, Orange, CA

Student Researcher – Behavioral Neuroendocrinology and Genetics August 2020-May 2022

•Investigated the effects of chronic stress on the hippocampus by studying differential expression of 3 genes in the brain.

•Extracted RNA from the hippocampus of each brain and measured the amount of RNA isolated using the Nanodrop.

•Detected brain regions that become activated in parental relative to nonparental animals using immunohistochemistry.

•Prepared 400 thin sections of brain samples using cryotome and created stained slides to examine and visualize antibody-antigen binding using a microscope.

Johnson & Johnson Workforce Ready, Chapman University Spring 2023

Professional Skills Development Program

•Selected to participate in workshops on purpose in the workplace, emotional intelligence, project management, and communication.

•Engaged in one-week training on project management, including project initiation, planning, design, execution, control, and stabilization using methods such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall and Kanban

•Collaborated with small team to develop project and practice methodologies.

•Examined components of emotional intelligence to elevate performance and potential in the workplace.

•Developed familiarity with use of Miro and Smartsheet for online project management.
