Medical Record Technician
I process, pull, and deliver patient medical records daily, by policy and procedures, to the appropriate ambulatory care clinics within the medical center promptly, ensuring that patient care is not interrupted.
Refile patient medical records daily back into the main file room after charts are analyzed.
Assist with walk-in chart requests for records from clinics, doctors, and hospital staff. Assist and ensure routine telephone calls, visitors, and questions relating to services, directions, instructions, and coordination of activities are answered correctly and promptly.
Ensures and maintains confidentiality of medical records by the Privacy Act, HIPAA, JCAHO, and IHS hospital policy and procedures.
