Order electronic medical records and submit along with UB04, itemized bill to Work Comp carrier for payment. Contact the employer's HR Dept and/or Risk Management Rep to file a 1st Report of injury with Work Comp to generate an Active claim and claim number. Contact the patient to make sure the injury has been properly reported to the employer. Follow up with the Work Comp carrier for bill status. Review the EOB for Denial reason. Submit documentation to the Denial Team for Reconsideration or Appeal. Verify the correct contract was used to calculate reimbursement.
