Vietnamese Voice-Based Question Answering System Using RAG Architecture Jan 2025 - Present

Developed a multimodal AI system integrating Retrieval-Augmented Generation

(RAG) to support the Office of Student Affairs in answering students’ questions in Vietnamese, using voice as both input and output. Description:

Team size: Team of 6 members.

Position: Front-end developer, Data Scientist, Tester. Front-end: Html, CSS, Figma, Javascript, React.

Back-end: Flask API, Whisper, VITS, Langchain, OpenAI API, SQLite. Built user-friendly front-end interfaces using modern web technologies and design tools.

Designed and implemented the front-end interface using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React, ensuring responsive layout and intuitive user experience.

Collaborated on Figma-based UI/UX designs and translated mockups into interactive web pages.

Processed variety types of data to ensure high-quality input for models: Scrawled data across faculty, cleaned and stored as structured format. Applied OCR with old quality documents to extract needed information. Applied Whisper for speech-to-text transcription and VITS for Vietnamese text-to-speech synthesis, enabling full voice interaction. Ensure every modules in the system work in harmony Conducted unit and integration testing to validate multimodal workflows and voice-data pipelines.

Collaborated in a team of 6 using Git for version control and agile development practices for weekly progress tracking.

Predicting Student Performance from Educational Gameplay Aug 2024 Built machine learning models to predict whether students would answer questions correctly based on their gameplay history in an online educational game. Performed EDA using Python and Plotly; developed XGBoost and CatBoost classifiers. Handled limited future information constraints and session-based sequential prediction.

Technologies: Python, Pandas, Plotly, XGBoost, CatBoost. Public leaderboard scores of 0.685 (XGBoost) and 0.684 (CatBoost). CUDA-Accelerated Multilayer Perceptron Optimization with GPU Dec 2024 Implemented and optimized a neural network to classify Fashion-MNIST images, comparing CPU- only and CUDA-based GPU implementations. Achieved significant 96% speedup through parallelized matrix operations, memory optimization, and kernel tuning. Role: Tester.

HR Attendance & Absence Dashboard with Power BI June 2025 Developed a Power BI solution to unify fragmented HR data from spreadsheets and cloud exports, focusing on attendance, absence, and overtime tracking. Handled messy data formats and evolving metrics to deliver actionable insights for HR, managers, and executives. Role: Data Analyst.
