Initiated and maintained Nuclear imaging in Oncology, Cardiology, rare diseases & SPECT imaging since 2000 in addition to routine and general Nuclear Medicine imaging in INMOL. I have been involved in routine reporting of general Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac SPECT-CT and Oncology SPECT-CT.

Treatment of thyroid disorders using Iodine-131 therapy for benign as well as malignant thyroid cancers

Part of pioneer team of PET-CT at INMOL and established the service since 2010. I have reported more than 10000 PET-CT scans independently in last 13 years.

Contributed in initiating novel PET-CT scans with Ga-68 labeled PSMA, DOTATATEPET Scans and have done more than 500 such scans since 2019

Started many new PET-CT scans at INMOL with novel radiopharmaceuticals using 18F-FES, 18F-DOPA, 18F-FLT, 18F-FET, 18F-MISO, 18F-PSMA, 18F-NaF, 11C-Methionine,13N- Ammonia, 68Ga-FAPI.

Pioneer in Clinical Applications of ‘Theranostics Nuclear Medicine’ in Pakistan o Theranostics treatment of patients of Neuroendocrine and Prostate Cancers using Alpha and Beta emitting radionuclides such as Lu-177, Y-90 and Ac-225 labeled molecules. 261 patients have been treated using these novel techniques at INMOL, First and Only center with the facility offering regular services. Brought international recognition and laurels to Nuclear Medicine Imaging of Pakistan.

Established new Nuclear Medicine Departments in Public and private sectors; o SPECT imaging using SIEMENS E.Cam at Doctors Hospital since 2004, heading the department and working as visiting consultant

o SPECT-CT imaging in PESSI Hospital, Lahore since 2008. First SPECT-CT center in Lahore using GE Hawkeye

o SPECT Imaging using SIEMENS Intevo at Al-Nasar Lab, Lahore since 2021

The Younis-Bashir Award has been introduced by Dr. Muhammad Numair Younis and Dr. Humayun Bashir for the best presentation from Pakistan (oral or poster) at the Annual meeting of the ACNM (mid-winter SNMMI meeting).

The objective of this award is to encourage the Nuclear Medicine fraternity in Pakistan to reach out and share their clinical and research work in the international arena. Two awards have been given until now
