COVERING LETTER

I am writing to express my keen interest in the Void Manager position within your organisation. Although I am currently working as a Regional Technical Manager in the insurance sector, I am now actively seeking a return to the social housing field I am truly passionate about and where I feel most fulfilled.

Earlier in my career, I held roles within social housing that allowed me to make a direct and positive impact on communities. That experience left a lasting impression on me, and over time, I’ve realised that my true professional satisfaction comes from contributing to housing services that support people and improve lives. My move into the insurance industry offered valuable experience managing technical operations and large-scale portfolios, but I now feel strongly drawn back to a role where I can combine my technical knowledge with purpose-driven work.

With a strong background in delivering repair, asset management, and compliance, I bring a deep understanding of void turnaround processes, contractor and DLO management, budget control, and regulatory standards. I have also developed robust leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and residents alike to ensure that homes are ready, safe, and of high quality. I would welcome the opportunity to bring this experience back into a social housing context and would be excited to contribute to an organisation that shares my values around community and service.

Thank you for considering my application. I would be delighted to discuss how my experience and enthusiasm for housing services align with your needs. I look forward to the possibility of speaking with you further.

Yours sincerely,

Jonathan Griffiths - Lester
