Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, (LPSC) Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Trivandrum, Kerala, India

Mar 2003 - Apr 2024: Led the Cryogenic rocket propulsion system team and retired as Deputy Director, Cryogenic Propulsion systems.

I led the development of cryogenic rocket propulsion systems design / development for engines and stage systems LOX/LH2/RP1/LCH4 propellants

Chaired more than 400 review meetings on design, hardware readiness, tests and performance assessment, clearance for rocket missions.

I analysed nearly 90 or more propulsion system failures either in flight or during ground tests for failure cause, mode as well as plan simulation tests to demonstrate that. Adopted detective skills, applied science and engineering fundamentals as well as sense of logical reasoning.

I reviewed the Moon landing Chandrayan 3 lander propulsion system design improvements, tests plan and performance assessment in tests, flight hardware readiness & mission data.

I led the QA team for operational and developing cryogenic rocket propulsion systems, on QA / QC plan, flight acceptance & design qualification tests plan. Auditing of log sheets to prepare Product Assurance document, for every cryogenic flight article. Apr 1985 – Feb 2003 Team player in rocket propulsion systems, worked as a Scientist in liquid rocket propulsion systems dynamics

Developed a limited elements model of liquid propulsion dynamics for structure-coupled pogo instability analysis and carried out pogo instability analysis using QBasic & MATLAB

Generated dynamic models for engine control systems and devised experiments to generate data for use as well as modelled and assessed Pogo-Vehicle control interaction.

Designed & delivered pogo correction systems for liquid stage Publications
