●Managed Adult Basic Education - a government funded educational program (GED, HiSet, ESL) that served students from 3 counties.
●Wrote state and federal grants to fund the program.
●Used Literacy Pro – LACES to enter all data to measure progress in attendance, post-testing, and diploma completion.
●Hired, trained, and oversaw 10 staff members which included part-time teachers and an administrative assistant/translator.
●Worked collectively with literacy councils, Work Force/WIOWA, and other non-profit organizations to identify resources that would benefit each organization individually and mutually.
●Oversaw the financial responsibility of all budgeting for Federal and State funds of approximately $140K annually including detailing expenses and the number of students that receive services.
●Worked closely with staff to assist close to 300 students annually. This included conducting performance evaluations and addressing concerns as they arise.
●GED: Led student centered classes with projects and collaboration to ensure a quality education for disadvantaged individuals. Achieved goals for high percentage of graduates followed by post education and a better career.
●ESL: Led student centered classes with projects and collaboration in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to the English language to adult students from all around the world.
●Entered student data in the National Reporting Service (LACES Literacy Pro)
Selected Contributions:
●Started 4 new satellite HSE (High School Equivalency) programs in surrounding areas
●Achieved top performance rating on students passing the HSE based on results from across the state of Oklahoma. This was achieved by hiring quality instructors, recruiting students through non-profit agencies coupled with advertising, and retaining students by providing a great, productive environment, quality instruction, and correspondence.
