Meeting Objective: After being trained by our staff all participants will be able to articulate the program process to be selected by our based districts for interview and possible hire. I was the Trainer or Educators: I was responsible for conducting lessons on Social Emotional Learning techniques. I taught the techniques used by the CASEL Model of Social Emotional Learning (SEL). I trained teachers in the techniques used by CASEL beginning with the core concepts and approaches used to solve conflicts within the classroom. I explained how different ages present unique developmental challenges and opportunities, while training the teachers how to implement (SEL) within their classrooms. I went further to explain that they are the educators, so they must meet students where they are to support both learning and behavior. I trained educators on handling students with complex emotions or social situations, navigating group dynamics, and resolving conflicts. I also taught them how to help students self-advocate, take ownership of their learning, track their own progress, and make positive choices. In each Cohort, I trained teachers to create a classroom environment where students felt safe, connected with peers, and engaged in real-life experiences through project-based learning and community service. I emphasized the importance of allowing students to share ideas and fostering a positive school climate. Additionally, I trained teachers on two-way communication strategies for engaging families and integrating SEL into their efforts. I provided examples of how to collaborate with support teams to create seamless, systemic support for students.
