Worked with VAL, Jharsuguda for continuously strengthening the energy management efforts for not only achieving PAT targets but also establishing bench marking figures. This includes Implementation of ISO : 50001, energy audits, resource optimization etc. Moreover, in an unending endeavor to improve energy performance we follow PDCA approach, which is also an approach suggested by international standard ISO : 50001.

VL Smelter Plant-I has received the Excellent Energy efficient unit award from CII continuously since 2012-13.
VL (Vedanta limited) has received, Green Manufacturing Excellence Award (GMEA) from Frost and Sullivan for its excellent achievement in energy, environment and safety many times.
Formed & took lead in forming a dedicated Energy cell to have focused approach on Energy conservation activities. Around 52 energy saving projects have been implemented in last three years generating saving of more than 1000 KWh/MT of aluminum production creating National benchmark figure of 13612Kwh/MT DC energy consumption by end of FY -2019-20.
Worked in Smelter-I of Vedanta which is a trend setter to adopt ‘Reverse Osmosis’ for defluoridation of waste water with evaporation of RO rejects in solar ponds. This is unique & first of its kind in any Aluminum Plant to go for Renewable Energy in ETP in a RO plant.

Conducting Energy Audits for 9x135MW CPP for improvement of heat rate & reduction of APC through CII & for Smelter-I with FICCI & subsequently with Siemens & TERI.
Continual improvement in energy performance by providing necessary resources and information required to achieve energy management objectives and targets. (Energy saving projects achieved through small group activities, followed by SBU & Plant level.)
Ensure compliance of all necessary and applicable legal and other requirements related to organization’s energy use, consumption and efficiency.
Incorporate Energy efficient designs, equipment and process in all the future projects. Purchase of energy efficient products on merit basis as per life cycle costing. (As an EnMS initiative, for any purchase requisition is supposed to check for availability of Energy efficient products. One clause is added in SAP. While raising PR for Capex.)
