Roles & Responsibilities

As Welding Inspector

Ensure all welding activities comply with applicable codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API) as well as project specifications.

Review and validate Material Test Certificates (MTCs), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and Quality Control (QC) procedures.

Monitor welding operations to ensure welder qualifications are up to date, procedures are correctly implemented, and welds meet visual and dimensional acceptance criteria.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with construction teams and discipline engineers to ensure quality and schedule alignment.

Oversee proper routing and reinstatement of piping systems; manage flange alignment, bolt torquing, pressure testing, valve installation, pipe support placement, and system alignment.

Conduct comprehensive visual and dimensional inspections for welding, piping, pressure vessels, and structural components.

Perform welding inspections before, during, and after welding activities.

Witness and interpret various testing methods including:

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): RT, UT, PT, MT

Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT)

Positive Material Identification (PMI) using Thermo Niton XRF Analyzers (API RP 578)

Mechanical Testing: Tensile, bending, hardness, Charpy impact

Corrosion Testing: ASTM G48, ASTM A262

Ferrite Testing: Fischer Ferritescope FMP30E

Additional Testing: Borescope, thermography, Equotip 3 hardness (ISO 17025), hydrostatic and pneumatic tests, load tests

Conduct piping walk-down inspections and ensure proper system reinstatement.

Manage inspection documentation including traceability records, punch list issuance, and closeout.

Address and manage non-conformities through root cause analysis, and implement preventive and corrective actions.

As Mechanical Inspector

Inspect various mechanical systems including gas systems, fuel oil systems, air systems, cooling water systems, and utility systems.

Perform inspections on mechanical equipment such as Boiler, HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator), Fire Heater, Column, Exchanger, Regenerator, tanks, pressure vessels, and rotating machinery.

Verify proper installation and alignment of mechanical components, checking levelness, clearances, and mechanical connections.

Use precision instruments to assess operational parameters like speed, temperature, pressure, and flow rate for performance verification.

Support Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) teams in functional testing of alarms, emergency systems, and safety devices.

Inspect internal components of equipment including nozzles, anchor bolts, and saddles for orientation and integrity.

Monitor equipment preservation and verify completeness of vendor documentation including Manufacturer Data Records (MDR), drawings, and manuals.

Participate in mechanical completion activities and provide support during commissioning phases
