Week 1 Friday 9th Feb. 2024): UNDERSTANDING THE DEMANDS OF BUILDING YOUR FAITH – Part 1C
To Build our Faith:
One must keep his hope alive.
We must keep seeing our future through the pages of scriptures – 1 Pet. 1:31 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
/Rom. 15:4Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
/Ecc. 9:4Ecclesiastes 9:4 For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
Without hope faith is impotent– Heb. 11:1Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
/Romans 4:16-18 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
No one ever arrives at a future he cannot see – Gen. 13:14-15.Genesis 13:14-15 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
One must keep the joy of the Lord alive.
It is with Joy we access revelation – Isa. 12:3Isaiah 12:3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
/ Phi. 1:15-18/ Eph. 3:1-5Ephesians 3:1-5 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to youward:
How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
We cannot access the path of life without joy – Psa. 16:11Psalms 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
/ Psa. 100:4Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Joy provides access to revelation, which in turn builds our faith– Isa.30:29-30Isaiah 30:29-30 Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
/ Rom. 14:17Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
