Responsible for designing and shifters, hand-controls, and pedals consist of variety of injection molded plastic parts, Aluminum die cast parts, sheet metal parts, and Hall Effect sensors.

Sanyo Energy U.S.A. 2005-2014

Engineer Supervisor: Engineering Department, Sanyo Energy U.S.A. – Frisco, TX (2011-2014)

Responsible for supervising and leading four mechanical design engineers and a lab technician for different chemistry battery pack design tailored to customer’s unique and specific needs, making evaluation samples, and launching new battery pack design to mass production phase in factories around the world. Worked on multiple battery development projects including Battery development and sizing, Mechanical design, Mechanical Packaging, Wiring, Circuit boards, connectors, thermal air venting, heat sink etc.

Mechanical Design Engineer Leader: Engineering Department, Sanyo Energy U.S.A. – Frisco, TX (2009-2011)

Responsible for leading three mechanical design engineers and a lab technician for different chemistry battery pack design tailored to customer’s unique and specific needs and making evaluation samples to win new USA based businesses. Worked closely with compliance team to create DFM and DFA for ISO 9001

Mechanical Design Engineer: Engineering Department, Sanyo Energy U.S.A. – San Diego, CA (2005-2009) Responsible for creating models and drawings of battery packs with plastic enclosures by using Pro-Engineer (CAD),

verifying designs with FEA (Cosmos Express) and MoldFlow software, coordinating and developing new projects, and

sustaining engineering for existing projects mass produced in Mexico.

Design Project Highlights/Teamwork:

Is in charge of a new generation suspended golf cart pedal assembly for a major golf cart company. (2022-Present)

Was in charge of floor mounting AMT shifter for off-highway tracks for a major European construction equipment company. Worked on the initial design to win the business, built samples, successfully launched the project. (2020 - 2024)

Was in charge of accelerator pedal (skid-steer) for a major US construction equipment company. (2018-2020)

Was in charge of AMT stalk shifter design for on-highway tracks for a US-Turkey joint company. Worked on the initial design to win the business, built samples, designed a patent pending auto-return turn signal mechanism.(2016 - 2018)

Was in charge of AMT stalk shifter design for on-highway tracks for a major US based track company. Worked on the initial design to win the business, developed testing jigs, successfully launching the project. Designed and obtained patent for hall switch system (WO 201-***-**** A1) to simplify its mechanical structure and function. (2014 - 2016)

In charge of training new hires for design engineers so their work speed reach up to speed with sufficient CAD skills and battery design knowledge by creating a training manual. (2010-2014)

Was in charge of initial design for IP67 water proof Lithium Ion battery pack. The battery pack was able to pass the IP67 test by using insert molded metal terminals and custom molded o-ring gasket. (2008)

Designed and obtained patent for (US20100247994A1) Multi-Purpose-Standard cell holder for Cylindrical Lithium Ion battery. As a result, was able to save tooling fee and development time for many customers needs. (2007)

Was in charge of designing a portable highpower tool application. With working closely with the customer, was able to launch the industry’s first 36V Lithium Ion power tool. (2007-2008)

Was in charge of designing a Lithium Ion battery pack equipped with a built-in charger for a portable sound dock. Although this was the first attempt to design a battery pack with a built-in charger, was successful launching this project on time by daily conference call with the charger design team in Japan. (2006-2007)

Was in charge of designing and launching a Lithium Ion battery pack for an industrial portable scanner/printer device. One of the requirements was to survive 6 feet drop onto a concrete floor for all surfaces, and corners (26 drops total)

without any crack or split on the plastic enclosure. By using Cosmos Express (Finite Element Analysis) on Solidworks, the final product was able to survive up to 100 drops without crack or split on the enclosure. (2006)

Worked on 120V system for UPS batteries.
