(QC) department in the Hull fabrication and assembly area. Key learnings and responsibilities included:
Understanding structural inspection processes for hull blocks and components.
Participated in APT (Air Pressure Testing) of piping and tank compartments to check for leaks and ensure system integrity.
Observed and assisted in HPT (Hydrostatic Pressure Testing) of systems to verify strength and leak-tightness under high pressure. Gained familiarity with NDT methods such as visual inspection, dye penetrant testing, and ultrasonic thickness gauging. Learned how QC documentation and compliance with class and yard standards are maintained.
