EDUCATION
Princeton Community Hospital - LPN
Princeton, WV • 07/2009 - 04/2013
I worked in the main ER, express care, and also the IV Therapy room. I got vitals on my patients and did head to toe assessments to address their complaints. I administered medications orally, intravenously, intramuscularly, Peg tube, etc. I did wound care and applied dressings per orders. I did straight catheterization on newborns to older adults to obtain urine specimens per orders. I assisted with patients who were full codes. I worked with EMR and Pyxis medication dispenser. I also worked in the IV therapy room when they needed someone. I sometimes accessed up to 50 IV's a day.
Preferred Hospice - LPN
Richlands, VA • 06/2006 - 05/2008
I worked independently on my own as a hospice nurse in patients homes. I traveled across 4 counties every day seeing patients. I administered standing orders based on my patients needs. I provided daily wound care and dressing changes when needed. I initiated pain pumps on my patients when ordered via IV, PAC, SQ, orally, Peg tube, etc. I worked over the phone with our contact physician daily. I documented charts daily. I addressed any changes in the patients plan of care with doctor or supervisor.
