Activities, Interests, and Volunteer Experience

I enjoy reading, dancing, listening to music, gardening, taking long walks on the beach, spending time with family, going to the movies, snow tubing, and traveling the world.

I have been a volunteer for my local community church for over 30 years. I taught catechism for more than 15 years, and now I just volunteer to help with students who have disabilities. I have also been a part of different committees for events in the past that helped raise money for different projects within the church.

I am currently the block captain of our neighborhood for the local Neighborhood Watch Program, we assist the local police department in maintaining order within our neighborhood.

I would like to become a member of two very good local organizations. The first one is Mujeres Unidas, which is a local organization that helps battered women and their children get out of an abusive relationship and have a better life. I can relate to these women, because I was married to an abusive individual when I was in my early 20s, I was just glad that I had a supportive family to be there for me and my daughter.

The other organization is CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. These volunteers form relationships with children that need stability and are in foster care. In the midst of an unsettled and chaotic time, a CASA advocate is there to ensure a child does not have to navigate the system alone.

Member of National Honor Society at Grand Canyon University since 2024.
