Area Operations Director, Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (Massachusetts), March 2022–January 2025
•Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations of ten programs across eight dialysis facilities ensuring adherence to clinical standards, optimizing patient flow and managing resources effectively.
•Strategic Planning: Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term strategic plans to expand service offerings and improve patient outcomes, resulting in increased ICH CAHP scores while reducing operational costs.
•Team Management: Directly supervise a multi-site team of clinical and administrative professionals, fostering a collaborative culture and providing coaching to enhance skills. Interim Nurse Manager during vacancies.
•Financial Oversight: Manage budget while implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising care quality and achieving a 5.7% increase in revenue year-over-year within a not-for-profit company. The predominant factor in this achievement has been an overall improvement of payer mix, capturing more secondary insurance charges and reducing AR days.
•Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all dialysis facilities meet and exceed CMS, OSHA, JC and state-specific regulations.
•Patient-Centered Care Initiatives: Champion quality improvement initiatives, enhancing patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes, catheter reduction, hospitalization reductions as well as multiple other metrics within our QAPI program.
•Expansion & Growth: Efficiently worked with two outside hospitals in the closures of their dialysis programs. During these closures, our local DCI clinics absorbed 50 patients, 8 staff, and we credentialed 15 of their physicians to seamlessly transition the care of their patients. I also worked with the MA Department of Public Health to expand the number of stations of our Tufts Medical Center facility without having to expand the footprint of the clinic.
•Operational Efficiency: Developed and implemented streamlined workflows and standardized policies and procedures among the regions so that we could more efficiently float staff without compromising care.
•Staff Development: Designed training programs to enhance clinical skills while aligning our nurse educators to work as a regional team when developing new talent into the company.
•Quality Assurance: Conducted regular audits and reviews of operational procedures, ensuring continuous compliance with industry standards and a consistently high patient safety record.
•Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Member of the One DCI committee to create an environment that is respectful and inclusive of all staff and patients.
•Property management: Act as landlord to two leased spaces within 2 separate properties. Responsible for the upkeep of all properties as well as lease negotiations on behalf of DCI for all leased properties.
