2008/2011. Subcontracted 3 years as a Superintendent for Apple Valley Construction completing tenant improvements, additions to residential and commercial buildings with the addition of sales and quoting. Our major client was Scott Contracting they handled workers for WCB that were affected by workplace accidents rendering them unable to access normal living conditions. Duties included project and site management, quality control to meet the individuals’ specialized needs.
Owner/Operator of BC Building Envelope Installations LTD from 2005 to 2013. We where the first Building Envelope company in the Okanagan area to specialize in this field offering services to residential and commercial builders. I provide companies with applications needed to prevent building envelope failure and have completed more than sixty separate jobs sites that have ranged from one to three hundred million without sacrificing safety or quality. Our biggest accomplishments was that we acted on behalf of Apex Building Sciences to complete on site assessments weekly for full building envelope and construction practices for the UBC Parkade, Vernon Jubilee Hospital and the Centennial buildings for the Kelowna General Hospital from 2009 to 2011. I was able to complete all the work on schedule time and budget for these three projects saving the client time and money without cost overruns.
In 2010 Tolko Industries contracted BC Building Envelope Installations LTD to complete a building envelope assessment for the five different roof locations at their Armstrong Division. Our duties were to supply a detailed book of all envelope failure for their roof and wall assemblies describing the point of water egress into the building. The second part was to supply a detailed construction report for the accounting division showing the repair method that was needed and a complete budget for the years 2011 through 2015. The budget was separated into each division and broken down to labor, material and follow up inspections. The final part of the assessment was to source capable contractors and run them through the plant explaining the scope of work making them aware of the obstacles involved in working in a mill setting to protect Tolko from receiving extra costs that would put them over budget and off schedule.
