Position: Quantity Surveyor, Jacana Enterprises Limited My current role involves among others the following;
• Project monitoring and control – Monitoring the project costs and expenditures.
• Coordinating Site Communications – Communicating with the subcontractors and consultants to ensure work is executed to the plan.
• Tendering and procurement – working in collaboration with the project manager to prepare the tender documents and procurement of materials.
• Value Engineering Exercise – Conducting of value engineering exercise to ensure suitable materials are used which performs the exact function as the one to be replaced.
• Remeasurements of works – Carrying out site remeasurements for the works done by the subcontractor for claim purposes and payments.
• Preparation of Bills of Quantities – Preparing the bills of quantities using the architectural drawings, structural drawings etc.
• Cost Reporting – preparation of cost and progress reports for submission to the client. December, 2023 to February 2025
Position: Site Clerk/Junior Project Manager, African Cityscape Project Management The role involved the following;
• Preparation of Bills of Quantities – Undertaking of quantity taking off to prepare bills of quantities.
• Managing and Coordinating Site Communications – Communicating with the consulting engineers about the missing information needed to carry out the works so that the project is not delayed.
• Assisting with Site Meetings and Minute-Taking – Ensuring that invites are sent to all parties attending the site meeting and ensure that minutes of the meeting are recorded.
• Assisting in Preparation of Tender Invite Documents – Assisting the project manager in preparation of tender invite documents.
• Ensuring Compliance with site regulations and procedures – Making sure the main contractor site compliant and following all the laid down procedures of operations and use of all equipment’s and tools.
• Assisting Direct Payment Records – Recording all the direct payments made by the client to the main contractor and subcontractors subsequently preparing the cession of rights.
• Managing of valuation and claims – Conducting re-measurements of work to ensure correct quantities are claimed for.

In addition to my substantive role as a Quantity Surveyor on the maintenance, I was given additional roles of working closely with the procurement team and tender preparations. My responsibilities at Astro works included;
• Preparation of Bills of Quantities – Formulating quantities from architectural and structural drawings for both in-house projects and out-house projects.
• Cash Flow Focusing – Ensuring the project is progressing within the initial estimated budget.
• Valuing Completed works and arranging for claims – Carrying out remeasurement for the works done in order to prepare a claim.
• Preparation of Tender Documents – Making sure that all documents needed to complete a tender submission are in place and everything been done as per tender requirements.
• Site Management of Maintenance Works – lead a team on all maintenance works to ensure works are carried to client’s satisfaction.
• Worked closely with the facilities manager for first alliance bank, Royale Dil restaurants, Furniture Holdings and Ananda Wedding & Conference venue for routine maintenance.
• Preparation of Bills of Materials and issue notes using ERP software.
