Project: Broadband Access Center – CISCO Systems

The Cisco Broadband Access Center (BAC) software creates high volumes of provisioning data. BAC provides tools that enable you to distribute this data transparently across multiple databases and to backup important network and subscriber data.

When a device boots, it requests a configuration from BAC and it is this configuration that determines the level of service for the device.

During this process, the DHCP server requests the RDU to build a configuration for the device. The RDU generates a configuration and forwards it to all the DPEs that service the provisioning group that the device belongs to. The DPEs can now provide the device with its configuration without going to the RDU.

Alcatel A1400 Tollfree Service provides the service user a free phone call to the service subscriber. A free phone call may entice a potential customer to place a call, or business people to communicate with the service subscriber who pays for the cost of the toll free service.

When the switch sends a Toll free call to the SCP, the Toll free Service logic is triggered and the toll free Service will translate the dialled number by executing the call plan associated with the dialled number.

The routing information will be returned to the switch. The service logic begins executing when the SCP receives the message from the SSP.

The SCP shall analyse the message, apply the service features as provisioned for the toll free number, and send the treatment decision to SSP.
