EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:

Turning Point for God

Senior Software Engineer March 2021 – Present

At Turning Point I was the Lead/Senior Engineer of a team of 4 individuals. I was responsible for data pipelines, web applcations, desktop applications and SQL Server management.

Being a microsoft shop we used C#.NET for almost all our tools. Some tasks I headed include the remove all written ADO.NET sql code in our applications and replace them with an ASP.NET REST api with Entity framework for data access using the repository pattern.

I also headed the team through an automation of all order and transaction imports from call center data, web data, and mail import data. I was able to help these datapipelines by bypassing text documents and excel sheets in the process and flow data to structured tables using a EtLT pattern.

I also removed many older sFTP processes with an API. The API secured with Oauth2 protections generating tokens for accessing users. This enabled us to have an automated update of shipping confirmations from our 3rd party warehouses instead of a daily process that ran at the end of the day. We also put many unit tests on these newer APIs as well as using bUnit on our Blazor web applcations.

Another large part of my job was navigating older Web Services and Winforms apps. For some I was able to automate their processes and remove them, but for many I had to implement Multithreading and await/async code to help speed up these processes. I also took out all written SQL in these and converted them to stored procedures that were called via ADO.NET.

Lastly and probably most importantly, I had to learn our vast Database systems to understand the flow of orders, transactions, and processes.

Power Line Reporting

Software Engineer March 2018 – Present

While with PLR I was part of the development team that worked on a multi-facet application that involved data integration and extraction involving PLS-CADD, a design program for power lines and power poles. The tools used where Visual Studios 2019 using C#.NET Core to develop the newest desktop application, Grid Search. Grid Search is a program that creates a repository system for power line systems, similar to how GitHub works. Are system architecture was MVVM. I was involved in many tasks involving Grid Search including: Implementation of Entity Framework with a repository pattern to give us access to the database via REST API (ASP.NET Core), Front Side development of the application which included creating processes, dialogs, and implementing features on the interactive user-map using WPF. This included use of parallel and asynchronous programming involving large files that data was parse from. We also did unit testing for our database queries using MSTest.

Thor Unlimited/Reebok CrossFit Sentinel October 2013 – December 2017

Consultant

I was in charge of consulting and managing around 45 coaches and programming workouts for over 3,000 members. Originally, I was brought on for a 6 month contract that was extended to over 4 years working in South Korea. I was in charge of weekly meetings, hitting monthly goals, and satisfying member expectations.

SAIC

Software Engineer September 2012 – September 2013

I worked on a team of developers that supported the Army’s Automated Aviation Logistics operation. The overview of the project was to go from paper documentation to an electronic records system. I was given tasks involving creating ASP.NET MVC pages to convert the paper documents to a lightweight web app. I also did extensive bug testing and debugging of the app. All back end coding was done in C# to a Microsoft SQL Server database via ADO.NET. The web app was designed for windows tablets and Windows operated machines.

Engenius Consulting Inc

Software Engineer May 2010- September 2012

I was part of the team that is working on the Congress mandated AFCS project. I am responsible for working on the .NET development of the TCMS/JCMS application that delivers the data from the AFCS project. The contract works on overhauling the SQL Server to an embedded database. This requires rewriting many stored procedures in C# and VB. Telerik business objects were introduced as we converted from a VB.NET project to a C#.NET project. The project was a WinForms application.

L-3 Communications EITS, Tampa, FL April 2009 - September 2009

Junior Developer/Internship

While at L-3 I updated a Classic ASP web application to ASP.NET 2.0 standards. I took the old template, observed the code which was mostly in Visual Basic, a language I was not extremely proficient in, and converted it to C# for code behind. I did extensive work with AJAX and JavaScript for client side operations as well. The project consisted of a lot of debugging and error checking and correcting problems. Overall, I converted the program and added Edit and Delete Features using jQuery and AJAX additions.
