Certified Child and Youth Program Assistant 2017-2021
I was responsible for the supervision of youth ages eleven to eighteen.
My responsibilities were to open the building to get ready for the day. Checked all safety items, unlocked doors, filled water jugs, made bleach solution bottles for cleaning and disinfecting. Turning on all lights and making sure the exits were cleared.
Planning and implementing multiple activities to entertain youth ranging from arts and crafts to organized sports. We also taught life skills, leadership skills and character development.
Planned and arranged community service trips.
Supervised youth during outing such as mountain or rock climbing.
Ran the youth lead concession stand. Made sure money added up, programmed the register, ordered and maintained full stock room. Shopped for all supplies at local stores.
I maintained a high level of training form the CYS service and the Army training center.
I cooked from scratch meals for up to seventy-five youth and staff.
I made sure to always maintain a safe environment from safety hazards to youth safety.
Kept track of how many youths were always under my direct supervision.
Maintained a sanitary environment to the military standards.
Gave medication to youth who needed medication.
Closed the building making sure all doors were secure, all surfaces were sterilized, light were shut of water was poured, bleach solutions were emptied, and building was vacant.
Upheld a professional Appearance to promote the company.
Interacted with many parents and military officials with high standards of customer service.
Kept an enthusiastic attitude to keep all people involved engaged in the center and our multiple activities ran by myself and other staff.
I ran Strength in Sisterhood modeled off Boys and Girls club Smart Girls curriculum. A program to help youth navigate the changes they will go through as a female in society. They learned things from basic hygiene to great self esteem.
I ran Keystone a Boys and Girls Program for teens fourteen thru eighteen. To help them transition to adult life. We taught everything from values to resume building.
I ran Youth Sponsorship: to help implement youth sponsorship program in the youth center. This is a lot like a school student ambassador. I would be running the program to make new incoming youth feel more at home upon arriving to the center. I would initiate contact through emails and calls to find out their interest and pair them with like minded youth. This easing the transition from one center to another.
Worked as part of a larger team and autonomously.
