I worked in a fast-paced outpatient cardiology office. I assisted multiple physicians each day. My job duties included: greeting each patient and gathering their accurate and updated information necessary for the visit.(height, weight, blood pressure, medications, EKG’s) After visits I collaborated with the physician to make changes in care, place lab orders, change medications/doses, order tests if needed, make additional appointments, and provide verbal and written education and explain any changes made during the visit to assure patients understand. I called pharmacies to discuss the costs of medications for patients and provided and filled out patient assistance applications when cost became a barrier for expensive necessary medications.
