I am a patient care technician with a certification, I also have a bachelors degree in public health; I desire to make the world a place in which a person's health status is not a reflection of his or her socioeconomic status. Becoming a patient care tech has been an eye opening opportunity on how to better understand care on an individual level. I have an experience as a caregiver in my health career. I was the health officer, promoting and enlightening my colleges on the occupational health hazard, which can be prevented in the workspace.
As the health officer my due duty was to create awareness on the hazard or dangers, which can most likely occur in the company and how to manage any event of an occurrence.
The company is a well known cooking gas company that export and import liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gas cylinder, cooking utensils and gas tanks through out Nigeria.
There are a number of risks when using gas such as explosion from damaged, overheated poorly maintained cylinders, pipes equipment or appliances. There is also the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and burns caused by contact with flame or hot surfaces. I coordinated a program to educate my colleges on how it can be prevented or avoided.
