Leader of the execution of agreements and resolutions emanating from the plenary of the National Coffee Council, which is the governing body of coffee growing in Honduras, responsible for the formulation, approval and evaluation of the national coffee policy and has the function of advising the President of Republic and the Government in everything related to the Coffee Value Chain. Also, CONACAFE is responsible for the elaboration of short, medium, and long-term sectoral strategies in terms of promotion and marketing, internal consumption, research and development, extension and training, financing, road infrastructure and agro-industrial processes; with the purpose of achieving a competitive, resilient, and sustainable coffee farming. During the administration, the Gender Policy has formulated and the Youth and Climate Change Policy for the country's coffee subsector is in the process of being designed. Also, the National Coffee Sustainability Plan, the sectoral strategic plan, and the National Strategy for the Promotion and Marketing of Coffee in Honduras are under review. Additionally, the council's endowment fund 4
created as an instrument to ensure financial sustainability in the long term. Leader of the work team that designed and implemented the regional (Central America and the Caribbean) and national strategy for the protection of the quality of coffee by its origin, seeking a differentiation, valuation, and commercial positioning of coffee from the regions for its unique qualities and characteristics in the different markets. The Program that I directed managed funds from two sources: the IDB-LAB and AECID, generating economies of scale and savings by merging two projects and executing it efficiently and effectively with the same technical-administrative team. As a result of the implementation of the Program, the Denominations of Origin in coffee have become the best model of differentiation, valuation and recognition of the quality and qualities of the aromatic in the market, achieving better income for the producers and a sustainable development of the rural territories.
