OCTOBER 2012 – MAY 2025 PROJECT DIRECTOR/GRANT MANAGER, CAPACITY BUILDERS, INC.

I have 12 years of experience in leading grant-funded programs, grant writing, supervising staff, implementing work plans, managing program budgets, evaluations, assessments, and writing reports to funders. When implementing programs in Navajo communities, I provide cultural and conceptual translations in Navajo (Diné Bizaad) during trainings I facilitate, tailored to each organization's needs. My experience enables me to bring community stakeholders together and make meaningful connections for grant opportunities and strategy planning.

Provided leadership as Program Director for the following programs:

Fatherhood FIRE (10/ 2020 – Present). A reentry program that provides wrap around case management to incarcerated fathers in Chinle, Crownpoint, Kayenta, and Tuba City Correctional Facilities.

Assertive Community Treatment (10/2019 – 6/2021). A 24/7 full range of services program for people diagnosed with a serious mental illness. The program has been known as a hospital without walls.

Rural Community Opioid Response Program (7/2018 – 6/2019). This Planning grant helped build a community collaboration of businesses and organizations to battle the opioid crisis through awareness, preventions and referrals to treatment centers in the Kayenta area.

Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy & Justice for Families (9/2018 – 9/2019). Provided and connected Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy Services to the Southwestern area of the Navajo Nation.

Arizona Sexual Assault Services (9/2018 – 6/2021) Provided Sexual Assault Services in rural Arizona.

Provides dedicated support services as Project Coordinator for the following programs:

Arizona Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention (10/2015 – 9/2018) Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention (9/2015 – 10/2018) – Coordinated Second Chance Young Fathers and Mother Project in four Navajo communities for youth ages 15-20 who have been incarcerated to successfully renter into their communities. Provided program support through supervising staff, managing the budget, and developing quarterly reports to the funder.

NM Department of Health Teen Pregnancy Program (9/2015 – 5/2018) – Facilitated Wyman Teen Outreach Program at the Central Consolidated School District. Supported the program to decrease school dropouts, negative behaviors, and teen pregnancy, while increasing grades, attendance, and overall well-being of students. Implemented work plan, managed the budget, and wrote reports.

Nike N7 Project Manager (5/2016 –5/2016) – Focused on increasing wellness in the small community of Nenahnezad by providing free physical education classes twice a week and nutritional food demos once a month. I implemented the work plan, managed the budget, and wrote reports to the funder.

SAMHSA Drug Free Communities (10/2012 – 5/2021) - Coordinated intervention methods for Underage Drinking, Marijuana, and Inhalants for the youth on the Navajo Nation and surrounding areas. Focused on increasing health and wellness initiatives with partnering agencies and organizations.

Running Strong for American Indian Youth Dreamstarter Mentor (4/2015 – 6/2020) – This grant supported Dreamstarter Rashaun, Nez Sunny Nez and Hope Gamble. Rashaun increased wellness Upper Fruitland by providing free physical education classes twice a week. Sunny Nez tested the local river for heavy metals after the King Gold Mine spill. Hope created a comic book from Navajo stories.

Office of Adolescent Health Teen Pregnancy Prevention Educator (10/2012 – 5/2015) - Facilitated Wyman Teen Outreach Program in Central Consolidated School District.

MAY – AUGUST 2012 PLACEMENT WORKER, NM CHILDREN YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT

●Provided state support for foster and adoptive families. Coordinated with CYFD investigators about the place of children taken into state custody.

AUGUST 2011 - MAY 2012 INTERN THERAPIST, SAN JUAN REGIONAL MEDICAN CENTER

●Administered bio-psychosocial assessments, contributed to master treatment plans for the behavioral unit, conducted therapy/life skills groups (coping with mental disorders and substance addictions).
