1 recordable incident this year when I started with the company in 2018 the EMR was at 1.69. When they received their rating in January 2021 the EMR was at .990. This was achieved by a training program that was put in place soon after I started which included 4 days of orientation and OSHA 10 class for all new hires prior to the start of work. Supervisory personnel attended OSHA 30 class upon hire. Existing employees were scheduled to be trained to these same standards as well.

As the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager I work with Altria facility management and AECOM employees to eliminate risks and injuries in the workplace.

I spent up to 30 percent of time in the work areas engaging employees, coaching leaders, and evaluating/ addressing risks or incidents. 20 percent of time is spent in an office performing administrative and planning functions. Training includes LOTO training specific to each piece of equipment within the facility. Weekly safety training topics. Daily safety talks specific to the scheduled work. Schedule annual hearing evaluations, evaluate the results to determine if further actions are required to protect employee hearing. Provide training for SDS and Hazcom for chemical usage. Training in the proper use of PPE when handling chemicals and hazardous materials. Provide training in the proper disposal of hazardous materials. Evaluate the use of respirators when using certain hazardous materials to provide for respiratory protection, assure that the correct respirator is in use for the hazard present. When AECOM assumed the contract for services for this Altria project, this was a brand new facility. After an extensive audit it required numerous corrections to be made. Including machine guarding, safety rails and other protective devices to be installed.

Repeatedly promoted and taking on progressively more responsibility during 17-year tenure with AECOM Corp, culminating in current responsibility for Safety Management & managing facility construction projects for the client at several of their facilities in the Richmond VA area. Some projects include; Total renovation of a million sq. foot distribution facility. Repaving of all asphalt areas. Replacement of concrete. Reinforcements of dock equipment. I started my career with AECOM as a Central Utility Plant Operator at the Micron Technology site. I started there as a plant operator, operating the boiler and chiller system, performing preventative maintenance on the equipment.

I was also tasked with operation of the industrial wastewater system during after hour times. As well as other chemical treatment areas around the facility that is used in the manufacturing of computer chips.
