Adequate PPE, sanitizer and soap, cleaning supplies, medical stock for the crew as well as port staff which may board the vessel.

Supervise and daily log the general health of the crew and record and report any incidents.

Inspect and uphold required levels of general sanitation on board the vessel.

Inspect the P.P.E. of crew prior to ship/shore interaction, and ensure appropriate disinfection / disposal of gear and surfaces post interface.

Administer non-contact thermometer reading for any visitor and gauge the risk level based on exposure and medical history which may be acquired via questionnaire prior to boarding.

Maintain a cabin for isolation of potential cases. Diagnose infected members and administer interim treatment in isolation cabin until evacuation is possible.

Ship Gangway and pilot ladder are dis-infected prior arriving port and at regular interval.

Ensure effective implementation of best management practices for COVID -19. While vessel is in port /terminal there will be many activities like shore personnel boarding the ship, provision, spares, stores supplies etc. The individual crew member may be assigned the duty for Dis- infection of supplies, visitor control and dis infection of touched ship or its equipment surfaces separately. The member of team should ensure that all the items touched by outsiders or outside supplies are dis-infected properly.

Take special care of Electrical or Electronic items while dis–infecting them with the help of ETO that live supply is not present as well as these items are not getting damaged while they are being dis-infected.

Take special care while dis infecting food items and equipment’s being used for galley. The chemicals if any used for disinfecting the utensils etc should be thoroughly rinsed/ cleaned in boiled hot water and should not affect the health of onboard personnel.
