15+ years of experience with design. My professional practice includes extensive experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for graphic design, apparel design, brand development, art direction, design consultation, and marketing for a vast array of clients from pro sports teams, movie production companies, city municipalities, music venues, apparel companies, and more. As a co-owner and creative director of SMPLFD, my responsibilities included overall brand development for our in-house designs and apparel, along with our clientele’s. I oversaw the entire process for most client’s projects from initial research, concept sketches, logo designs, full graphic brand mock-ups, line sheets, pitch decks, managing sample productions, final product production, photo shoots, model styling and direction, media campaigns, retail merchandising, event planning, to final sales.
Clientele includes The Detroit Lions, The Detroit Pistons, The Detroit Institute of Arts, City of Detroit, The Fillmore Theater, IFC Films, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit MOCAD, Shinola, and more. Artistic Practice
20+ years of experience. My studio practice focuses on painting with some interdisciplinary sculpture, collage, and found object elements. Currently I’m enrolled in Calarts MFA Painting program with intentions to further develop my practice and begin exhibiting again after concentrating on my professional design career. In the past I’ve shown in solo and group exhibitions both nationally, and internationally including Detroit, Chicago, London, and Seoul. SMPLFD is a streetwear brand, graphic design firm, and creative consulting company based in Detroit, MI. It was established in 2010 by myself and two other people. We have a retail location in Detroit, and sell apparel in several other locations. Our clientele includes the Detroit Lions, The Detroit Pistons, The Detroit Institute of Arts, City of Detroit, The Fillmore Theater, IFC Films, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit MOCAD, Shinola, and more. My duties as lead graphic designer, creative director, and co-owner included execution and oversight of all graphic design for both our’s and clientele’s brands, consulting, brand and product development, styling and executing photo shoots, ad campaigns, social media output, and marketing.
