Montefiore Nyack Hospital - Nyack, NY MPI DNFB

Coordinator

Maintains and monitors the McKesson MPI system and the MPF work queues. Troubleshoots potential data entry errors and reports them to the Data Integrity Coordinator. Coordinates and manages day-to-day DNFB. Works with areas listed on the unbilled to process accounts. Works with all coders and abstractors to obtain missing physician documentation for coding and billing. Reports all outstanding accounts with issues weekly to the Revenue Committee. Ensures appropriate charge master description (CDM) is added to each account.

Daily completion of the facility charge to include all appropriate charges in the EDIM's System. Identify and rectify identified discrepancies within the ED facility charges by reaching out to the ED Nursing contact.

Monitors Possible Duplicate Person report on a daily basis, identifies potential duplicates and once confirmed updates the MPI and merges the medical records. Monitors daily discharge census report for missing records. Identifies missing records so they appear on the DNFB under the appropriate department. And other duties as needed.

08/2009 - 07/2018

Nyack Hospital - Nyack, NY Birth Certificate Coordinator To record and complete all the data retired by the Hospital and New York State in connection with birth certificates and fetal death certificates. Responsible for the awareness in maintaining vital statistics. Abstraction of birth registry

Check log-book for all births from the Labor and Delivery unit and assign numbers. Verify data for submission to the Bureau of Vital Statistics, prepare and enter all information from worksheets into the Electronic Birth Certificate software as required by the State of New York and remit vital statistics vis E-Mail after release by the Village Clerk. Prepare a list of births and fax to the Journal News.

Have the physician sign the Birth Certificate and have them delivered to the Village Clerk. Update name changes for newborns into the Paragon and UDS System. Have all Medicaid Birth Certificates completed within 5 days of birth. Scan and index all birth certificate workbooks into the HPF.

General contacts with Physicians, Nursing, Patients, NYSDOH Bureau of Vital Statistics, Village Clerks Office, Attorneys and other outside agencies. Coordinate as needed, any personnel involved in completion of the Birth Certificate Registration Process.
