Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives to attract and retain talent. Overseeing all aspects of HR practices and processes, including but not limited to recruitment, perform criminal background checks, credit checks, and drug screenings for all new hires, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations. Creating an enabling environment for employee performance. Managing employee benefits administration, payroll, workers compensation, and contract negotiations. Implementing written policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. Analyzing required human resources data for effective decision making that support employee engagement, employee retention, performance management.
Giving direction and oversight in order to address and achieve solutions for people issues as it relates to employee relations, manpower / workforce planning, conflict / crisis management, compensation and benefits management, and other human capital related issues.
Partnering with departments and other stakeholders with a focus on constant communication and collaboration in order to achieve greater performance and business efficiency. Managing the Intern and Casual Worker pool for ease of recruitment into the entry level positions and the “understudy program” at supervisory and managerial levels to cater for succession management needs. In September, 2022, I led the team that acquired Sheraton Abuja, now Abuja Continental Hotel - a 600-room hotel located in Abuja, Nigeria. Handled negotiations with the Unions to achieve collective agreement that paved the way for the acquisition of Sheraton Abuja.
Managed Covid-19 staffing and compensation strategy without labor unions agitations. Championed the hiring process of over 300 employees to re-open Abuja Continental in November, 2022. Set-up a new HR structure at Abuja Continental Hotel. Developed a Staff benefit structure that increased employee engagement by 37% in the year 2023. Collaborated with the Owning Company to develop an automated performance management platforms for both properties - Lagos & Abuja Continental Hotels (LCPMS / ACPMS).

In 2020, I managed the transition from receivership to acquisition by the new business owners. Managed all the Labor Unions negotiations and collective bargaining on behalf of the new owners. In collaboration with the Owning Company, managed the Hotel workforce to achieve 80% retention during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Developed a performance management process that resulted in 98% employee satisfaction rate. Midwifed a culture shift from disruptive unionism to collective bargaining system. Worked with the leadership team to monitor and manage payroll cost, thereby achieving 10% savings on the personnel budget in 2021.
Maintained knowledge on external trends and issues that impacted the organization and identified their relevance/applicability to the Company, along with recommended actions to ensure compliance. Assisted the new Expatriate General Manager in the day to day running of the business and the property developmental projects under the new owners

Led and participated in cross-department Human Resources initiatives, projects, and/or functional operations as required. Initiated, created and delivered human resources policies, departmental procedures, employee handbooks, performance management communications and tools, and reports.
Partnered with others across the organization to create a positive work/culture through effective communications, policies and practices.
In 2016, saved N70 Million Cost To Company (CTC) from the recession induced retrenchment exercise without industrial unrest.
Staff benefit policy was introduced to boost employee morale and motivation after the 2016 retrenchment. In 2016, I introduced outsourcing and temporary employment strategy in non-essential business units of the Hotel to reduced payroll cost by N10 Million monthly.
Managed Hotel-wide restructuring with a view to redesign jobs for better employee compensation and benefits. Due to receivership, I ran the hotel business as the General Manager between January, 2018 and November, 2019. Successfully led the hotel through the receivership phase without shutdown and retrenchment. Met the loan repayment obligations of the hotel to the creditors during the receivership period. Stayed abreast of the local labor law in order to provide guidance and support to teams and departments across the entire organization. Partnered with the legal team and outside counsel on the interpretation of local labor laws. Formulated and implemented the Company HR Strategy that reposition the Company for oil and gas logistics.
