Resume:

Hello,

My name is Jerry Howard. I am extremely interested in your Supplier Project Engineer position. I have more than 25 years of experience meeting manufacturing, design, sales and technical challenges and I am positive I can do the same for your company.

I like to highlight the position of Supplier Offshore Manager I held with Precision Inc. 2000 to 2008. This position started out as a Applications/Sales Engineer where I worked remotely from my home office, servicing the NW and the West Coast, while Precision Inc. was a Minnesota base company. I directed key meetings with my team in Minnesota in order to build products and support my customers. I also negotiate contracts with my customers but also, I understood their products, and when my customer wanted to move their product offshore, I found manufacturing partners offshore for them as well as my own company. In all I managed 5 Chinese factories supporting my customers’ requirements.

I also was on-site in China to help our manufacturing partners understand the processes and assist them with all phases of production. I continued to work with these partners to meet our delivery schedule to our customers.

I look forward to the opportunity to discuss in more detail, my qualifications and learn how I can help your company.

Sincerely,

Jerry L. Howard

Magnix Inc.

Sr. Mfg. Engineer Power Electronics Oct. 2022 to May 2023

Magnix is a startup company developing electric flight. I was hired to set up the power electronics manufacturing production line for the MagniDrive Invertor, which took on the role of a Project Engineer. I started with creating detailed work instructions using Solidworks Composer. Once knowing the process, I created the future factory layout that identified workstations needed in the process. Labor standards were assigned to each workstation so that line balancing would move every 30 minutes. All workstations were set up for lean manufacturing, each tool needed was identified and presented at that station. Materials were issued and stored at the point of use. Cost analysis was performed on all manufacturing and purchased parts for make buy decisions and to reduce costs.

I had been working with Worksmarts Systems [worksmartsystems.com} to develop a single piece flow line based on the process. The number of assemblers will be determined by the customer’s demand.

The company is still working with their partners and will, I’m sure, receive FFA approvals. However, production is still a year or so away, my services were no longer required, and with funding issues, unfortunately I was let go.
