Plastic extruder’s selection tooling selection for crossheads, and layout for copper wire cable plant. Responsible for trouble shooting process issues on 200 different production lines in a 1.2 million square foot plant. Trained in quality engineer on SPC and ISO 9001. Process evaluation on determines the weak part of the production line and repairing or modifying the equipment. To reduce the scrap rate by 25% for the first-year goal. 6/1987 to 10/1988 – Startup company $30 M projects Micro Photonix Inc. – Facilities Manager-Lithium Niobate - products Phoenix, AZ - Full design responsibilities, maintenance management, service contracts on two sites and construction administration responsibilities of HVAC and plumbing for a 150,000 square foot two story building. Design build for class 10 and class 100 clean rooms for wafer fab production. Responsible for 30 tools layout and install in the photolithography, etch and Diffusion rooms. All support equipment such as; RODI system waste treatment plant and gas pad with argon, helium, nitrogen and oxygen. 500-ton chiller and cooling tower with 21,000 CFM make-up air unit to maintain a positive pressure. The front end was the clean room area, the backend had wafer polishing, grinding room, sub straight stations and pig tailing testing modules. The Blue-M ovens and environmental test chamber was used for wafer tests.

Jacobs Sirrine Engineering – Refinery/Chemical plants projects Project Manager for Mechanical involved in the $50 million Apex expansion projects at the TRW Site II Mesa facility in Arizona. Activities included the addition of six wet scrubbers, with stainless steel ductwork, rupture discs.

Locations on ductwork (based on NFPA 68, explosives) and all transport ducts to exhaust sodium azide particulates are located in each bay at each collection point. Steam design for steam condensate pumping station from two dryers. Selected all pumps relative to recirculating water to scrubber nozzles and blow down water to the tank farm

Project Manager for Motorola Semiconductor Products’ fab upgrades involving the addition of seven acid and ammonia scrubbers to their 52nd Street “G Cell” project. Using Tri-mer 30,000 CFM scrubbers for Acid exhaust and Harrington 10,000 CFM with caustic acid for ammonia exhaust. Clean Room design for Class 10 and Class 100 using Envirco Units and HEPA modules.

Project Manager for nine reactors for EPI’s proposal, which included the Gemini II and 7700 reactors, used in the etching process on wafers. Included HEPA filters and modular air handlers. Evaluated existing penthouse make-up air units for capacity of additional make-up air requirements.
