• Assisted in engine room machinery operations and maintenance aboard international merchant vessels as First assistant to the chief engineer on over 12 ships during unlimited long voyages worldwide.
• Performed overhaul, maintenance, repair tasks and conducted “preventive and emergency” maintenance on main engines (up to 51,000 kW), diesel engines/generators
(up to 2800 kW), steam boilers, purifiers and over 20 types of pumps.
• Allocated and supervised tasks to the junior 5-8 crew members and watchkeepers according to the chief engineer’s maintenance and safety plans.
• Reduced machinery downtime by 50% through proactive servicing and condition monitoring of onboard systems in collaboration with the engine team.
• Fully in charge of managing workshop operations with spare parts and general store while maintaining the availability of over 1000 critical components.
• Ensured compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL and ISM maritime safety and environmental standards.
