• Assisted in engine room machinery operations and maintenance aboard international merchant vessels as First Assistant to the Chief Engineer on over 12 ships during unlimited long voyages worldwide.
• Performed overhaul, maintenance, repair and conducted “planned & emergency” maintenance on 2-stroke main engines (up to 51,000 kW), 4-stroke diesel generators (up to 2800 kW), steam boilers, purifiers and over 20 types of pumps. (Including MAN B&W)
• Allocated and supervised tasks to the junior 5-8 crew members and watchkeepers according to the Chief Engineer’s maintenance and safety plans.
• Reduced machinery downtime by 50% through forward-thinking servicing and condition monitoring of onboard systems with the engine team.
• Fully in charge of managing workshop operations with spare parts and general store while maintaining the availability of over 1000 critical components.
