Additional Information
I am currently pursuing my college education at Mississippi Valley State University, where I am working toward earning my bachelor’s degree. While I am grateful for the opportunity to be in college and value the knowledge and experience I am gaining, my true passion lies in the field of cosmetology. From a young age, I have been drawn to beauty, hair, and self-expression through personal style. Whether it’s hairstyling, makeup, or skincare, I’ve always had a deep interest in helping people look and feel their best.
Although I’ve chosen to begin my journey in higher education, I’ve never lost sight of my goal to become a professional in the cosmetology industry. My plan is to complete my degree, which I believe will give me a strong foundation in communication, business, and critical thinking—skills that are just as important in the beauty industry as they are in any other career. After I graduate with my bachelor’s degree, I intend to enroll in a trade or cosmetology school to receive hands-on training and certification.
I see my educational path as a unique combination of academic and practical learning. With a degree in hand, I will not only be qualified in my chosen field of study but also better prepared to manage or even own a business in the beauty industry one day. I believe that cosmetology is more than just a trade—it’s an art form and a service that boosts confidence, promotes self-care, and fosters creativity. Being able to contribute to that experience for others is something that excites and motivates me. In the future, I hope to merge my academic knowledge with my passion for cosmetology to create a meaningful and successful career. Whether that means opening my own salon, working as a freelance stylist, or even educating future cosmetologists, I want to make a lasting impact in the field. This blend of education and passion gives me confidence that I can achieve my goals and inspire others along the way.
