In this multi-faceted business ownership role, I have responsibility and accountability to successfully run all aspects of the business, including Business Development, Sales and Marketing, Product Brokering, Procurement, Project Management, Administration, Employee Development, Client Relation Management, and overall Operations Management.
• Effectively managed $85 million in food and non-food purchases and developed a Food Service Distribution Controlled Member Business Model resulted in 2 National and 4 Ontario Distribution Partners. o Strategically implemented low fee compliant based Group Purchasing Organizing (GPO) business model.
• Developed and Implemented Food Service Brokerage Segment while working with 2 Product Lines representing Ontario.
• A skilled Business Development Agent - Initial start-up with 3 clients that grew into a multi-client business in both Procurement and Sales Senior capacities.
o Handled $540 million in spend opportunity under new account development and accountable for approx. $100 M (with 5 clients) GPO.
• Retention: Maintained 90% of client base since business inception
• Procurement: Negotiated 16%+ in average savings on all completed client deals. Completed 63 new leveraged contracts and maintained just over $4 million dollars in combined customer savings.
• Sourced, negotiated and implemented Food Service procurement focused data management system which allowed clients to better manage Food Service Procurement Strategies (in accordance with Program Compliance, Pricing Accuracy, Product Substitutions and Contract Opportunities).
o System Sourcing: Negotiated national distribution platform, reviewed, and analyzed proprietary industry data management systems and provide recommendations that best align with all client’s requirements. o Introduced “cloud based” food service system to allow clients to access their own “virtual” data securely online. o Led the development of the Customized Client Portal / Data Management system within 8 months. o Increased revenue by $30k+ by negotiating Healthcare Distribution Agreement.
• Project Management: Spearhead new product development initiatives by direct resourcing through proper channels while ensuring stakeholder engagement.
o Developed clear project plans with identified objectives and deliverables. o Sustainability Project: Developed and secured 30% Green Belt Project funding grant for bi-local initiative. Provided discounts to clients (by promoting 30% of total product spend to qualify as local spend per bi-local guideline requirements). Client award of up to $120K grant.
o Ensured prompt, thorough, and impactful communications to successfully deliver projects by maintain key relationships between Operations, Manufacturing, Service Providers and Distribution.
• Project Management: Handled all Procurement, Contract Management, Sub-Contractor Management for a 12-home development construction project in Fonthill, ON.
• Developed a 3rd Party Distribution and Warehouse Association to handle day to day “non-skid” orders for Retail Grocery Clients
