DUTIES, RESPONSIBILTY AND TASK

(SHE) ISSUES IN THE SECTION

*Managing section waste and their disposal according to laid down procedures.

*Identify SHE aspects and hazards in the department and develop and implements department’s specific procedures and/or work instructions to minimise the aspects/hazards identified.

*Support resource availability for awareness training and jobs specific training.

*Participate in SHE audits

*Support requirements by SHE project team.

ASSAY LABORATORY CONTROL

*Ensure that samples received at the laboratory are recorded and processed timeously using correct assaying procedures.( Fire assay of gold))

*Ensure that quality control measures at all stages of assaying process are adhere to.

*Arrange for maintenance and servicing of department and make follow-up on these request.

*write up job request to service department and make follow ups on these requests.

* Ensure proper record keeping of bullion return in the assay lab.

*Ensure high safety and personal hygiene standards in the laboratory.

*Ensure that the assay laboratory provides a reliable and efficient services to end users department by displaying knowledge of various analytical techniques required for laboratory to operate in an efficient way.

MANAGEMENT

Responsible for overall management of assay lab and liaises with the HOD on all areas requiring particular attention.

Liaises with mine stores for lab stock consumption and control.
