In addition, he served as the Deputy Director of the New Orleans Legal Assistant Corporation. In this capacity, he was responsible for the training and professional development of all staff. He also held the position of Training Director in the Office of Program Support within the National Legal Services Corporation, where he led a special national leadership development initiative for all legal services programs. Jawara Lumumba has over 20 years of experience as an organizational development consultant, trainer and lawyer providing a varied range of support to clients in the United States and the developing world. As an expert in assisting institutions to strategically plan and achieve organizational results, he has conducted skills building programs on leadership and management, organizational change, collaborative partnerships and teamwork, valuing diversity, and strategic communication. In the fall of 2012 he collaboratively designed and facilitated the South Sudan Strategic Review Session. He has significant experience in providing similar strategic planning support to organizations in assessing programmatic progress, documenting lessons learned, clarifying vision, developing change strategies and establishing a strategic pathway forward.
