Responsibilities:

Leadership of all shift operations including compounding, extrusion, fabrication, regrind areas. ~ 50 people

Accomplishments:

Successfully managed shift to minimize/eliminate safety issues, meet production daily goals and outputs.

Set daily production priorities with planning, was lead communicator and interface for B & C-shift supervisors.

Successfully managed to meet all required safety and OSHA programs, including auditing and reporting on LOTO processes, fire extinguisher/Emergency Defib/Eye wash stations, etc.

Maintained excellent labor and staff management to drive efficiencies and deliver optimum cost impact. This was accomplished through clear daily communication, setting expectations that were consistently communicated and reenforced.

Ex of leadership… 1) Recently was main interface for implementation of MES on the production floor. Daily real time system for tracking uptime, reason codes for machine/line downtime, etc. Training other shift supervisors and interfaced with corporate engineering team on a daily basis. 2) Implementation of new railing kitting and wrapping station. Lead A-shift on system training and roll-out of stations. Worked with engineering to set storage plans, floor layout, daily shift output tracking.

Production Lead Extrusion & Fabrication: Dates: November 2012 – August 2015

Responsibilities:

Hands-on floor leadership of extrusion and fabrication.

Support of shift supervisor to accomplish all priorities and goals

Responsible for close management of technical operations and daily training of operators.

Supported any special projects required by supervisor.

Accomplishments:

Became go-to technical leader for the shift. Through hands-on work and investigation developed high level of technical skills and became shift technical expert.

Plant certified as LOTO trainer for shift. Successfully trained personnel on key OSHA program. Additionally, was lead hands-on trainer for new operators coming into the area.

Set shift personnel assignments with Supervisor. Managed special needs and assignments as requested.

Ensured all plant policies, safety guidelines and rules were followed at all times.

Extrusion Lead Operator: Date: September 2010 - November 2012

Operated and demonstrated proficiency on all fourteen extrusion lines

Performed setups, changeover, startups, and shutdowns

Established in-depth knowledge of Extruders, Embossers, routers, and other downstream equipment

Maintenance Mechanic 1: Dates: June 2004 - September 2010

Effectively performed PM duties on all 14 Extrusion lines

Maintained and cleaned Train chiller system and air compressors

Completed setting of screws in KMD and Cincinnati Milacron extruders

Installed overhead plumbing and pumps for vent system for removal of gases from the extrusion process

Implemented new gasket and glass covering for extruder vent block
