PROFILE

For 21 years I have worked at Devers Middle School & Teen Center at Fort Knox Base. Primarily I ran the Homework Center and Power Hour Program. Power Hour is a Boys & Girls Club of America program of homework help (reteaching what they are learning in school), tutoring, and extra activities to support their school education. This was for 6th - 12th grades and covered all subjects except ROTC and PE. I also wrote lesson plans and Program plans for Power Hour, Money Matters, Bully Prevention, Career launch, Diploma to Degrees, Brain Gain, and Dungeons & Dragons. I also helped cover other staffs' clubs (SMART Moves, R2, arts 'n' crafts, Rainbow, STEAM, and Tech Tuesday) and rooms whenever needed (gym, game room, and the computer lab) SKILLS

I didn't realize that by getting my Master's it virtually made me nonhirable by school systems because of the difference in pay between Bachelor's and Master''s ($5,000). I am willing to negotiate any salary even if it is below the stated Master’s pay for the school system. VOLUNTEERING

Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, KY 42701 August 1976 - December 1976 Volunteered in Pharmacy helping employee stamp patient cards to indicate their taking a controlled substance during their stay. Also helped batch cough syrups and pills into smaller bottles and attach pre-printed labels for pharmacist to have on hand when ordered by the doctor

Silvercreek Elementary School, Elizabethtown, KY 42701 January 1976 - May 1976 Worked as a volunteer Teacher's Aide in the Special Education Room at Silvercreek Elementary School for the last half of senior year to see if it was what I wanted to do in college. I helped grades 3-6 youth with reading, writing, English, language arts, and math. I also planned an Easter Egg Hunt for them.

Fund Raising, Barnes & Noble Bookstore, Elizabethtown, KY 42701 During these years I worked on the youths' communication and people skills by having them volunteer at book fairs (with projects for younger youth to do) and Christmas gift wrapping (for donations) where they handed out flyers and greeted customers at the door and wrapped gifts for donations. The most we brought in for the Homework Center was $3,000 (three thousand dollars). The youth enjoyed interacting with the non-military public and military that came to buy books and get gifts wrapped.
