Post Retirement Qualifications
Dear Sirs,
My first position after retirement from the US Army was as a Senior Analyst as part of the WARSIM Development team at the National Simulation Center at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas, which was part of a contract won by Cubic Applications, Inc
At that time Cubic also had the simulation Center contracts for Ft Bragg, Ft Hood, Ft Lewis and the Korean Battle Simulation Center. Part of my job was to gather data on how well or where were simulation changes needed in the new WARSIM model. As such, I traveled to all of the major Warfighting exercises.
Since as a 34 year Combat Arms officer I knew most of the senior Commanders, who while visiting their exercises, asked me if I thought I could be available to supervise an OC team and conduct Ramp Up exercise AARs.
This ‘caught on’ and over the decade since have conducted just under 30
Formal AARs (Mid Ex and Final) and OC team management for USAREUR
(Mountain Shield & Eagle); CENTAG(Cannon Cloud);8thArmy(SUMMEREX); V Corps; III Corps; 2nd ID; 4th ID; 1st Bde, 4th ID;1st Cav Div.
Also as part of my support to the Cubic DTRA Support Team facilitated several DTRA consequence management exercises in Garmisch, FRG.
I have also maintained doctrinal currency by participating in CGSC classroom tactical briefings and exercises either as an exercise observer or exercise Sr Officer participant.
I am looking for a position that will afford me the enjoyment of continuing to mentor those personnel with whom I contact in the sphere of military training and exercises.
I am available to discuss any of the contents of this cover letter, my resume, or my Officer records Brief.
Respectfully Yours,
Stanley F. Cherrie
