Job duties: Read and check email daily. Route between 25-45 delivery routes daily. Make sure all hot shipments are routed correctly, early stop closures, appointment deliveries, GAMD- guarantee a.m. Delivery and lift gate deliveries. Make sure all delivery routes are shut down in time. Keep dispatch up to date on any route changes,
(cuts, adds or late routes). Talk to customers by phone and email when necessary. When I ran the podium I was in charge of about 20-40 dock workers and drivers. It all depended on the the freight volume we had for that day. I was responsible for assigning breakouts to each of the dock workers and drivers. I would also have to give the hostlers and the drivers coming into the service center door numbers for the trailers they had so they could bring them up. In short anything to do with running a dock operation. In regards to other supervisory duties, I did performance appraisals, handled disciplinary actions, write ups, coaching and verbal warnings.
