Selected Responsibilities and Accomplishments
Managed all aspects of company’s FP&A function including development of business and marketing plans, recruitment, hiring, and training of staff, budgeting, P&L, scheduling work and activities, establishing control policies and procedures, procurement of equipment and production supplies, client and vendor relations, performance evaluations and motivation of employees.
Led the effort to execute the $500M separation of the Enterprise Connectivity (electric product) organization from the (gas product) Product Development organization. Identified all planned funding for each and created a workable separation plan for the next cycle plan update. This separation was achieved within a 6-month period.
Spearheaded development of milestone financials for the critical / high profit truck and SUV programs. For the 1st time financial professionals were going to participate in the pre-program planning efforts to improve 5-year business plans. Successfully created Job-Last-to-Job-First financial estimates for each of these programs.
Researched best practices and developed a Global Profit Consolidation tool for the company. Using Essbase a multidimensional database, took-into-account global/functional forecasts, budget performance, year-over-year and quarter-over-quarter variances versus actuals. This tool continues in use to this day.
The discovery of $15 million in unpaid supplier liabilities due to deleted digital licensed parts revealed a larger systemic issue in managing non-physical intellectual property. Alongside Cellular Cost and Subscription Management, these became the foundation of the Digital Eco-System infrastructure. Spearheaded the development of systematic solutions that streamlined operations and ensured financial accountability.
Enhanced morale through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere. Provided assignments of increased responsibility along with opportunities for additional training and challenging performance incentives that encouraged a sense of ownership in the overall operation.
Increased sales in the Middle East by traveling to Dubai, UAE and Riyadh, Saudia Arabia to examine pricing and marketing practices of competitive products. Initiated the launch of new products and powertrain combinations that led to the 1st fully accounted profit for the export organization in this region.
Organized and developed presentations for large regional sales audiences in the Midwest. Provided financial reviews on various products, services, and future projects to help sales better understand for future marketing activities.
Trained over 300 Finance professionals across the globe on a new Hyperion/Essbase FP&A tool used to manage global financial reporting and general ledger systems. Designed a 1-day training course and delivered lecture, small group and one-on-one instruction on use of this new system.

Took-on the company’s desire to reduce a $50M engineering driven part obsolescence expense. Reviewed the complexities of the incurred cost, root causes of expense and associated individuals, teams and systems involved. Created a new tool that provided engineering with inventory levels and calculated potential obsolescence expense if the inventory was not consumed.
Managed $1.7B in US fixed marketing funds that included all media, sponsorships, event activations, product brochures, motor sports, etc. Supervised a team of 8 to deliver all financial reporting, 5-year business plan, annual budgets, and monthly forecast information.
Brought financial reporting and GAAP accounting processes to a consulting company. Upgraded accounting structures to eliminate inappropriate payroll content, added federal and state tax estimates and payment abilities and designed a cashflow reporting tool to fully account for purchase order profitability. Achieved financial and accounting transparency.
