Royal of Braintree September 2024-November 2024
Unit Manager Synopses:
I just finished a contract job as a unit manager too. I did a 3 month contract at the Royal in Braintree and I managed 2 floors. I made a big impact there and was able to get the floors working to the point it flowed better, notes where being written, and on every shift for the Medicare patients. I did some in serving training so they had a good understanding the reason notes are required. It took some time but I ended up with notes on all the required patients. I ensured weights were being done and recorded another in serving on the importance and to weigh the same way every time so there are no discrepancies. I got the patients in need on hospice, I followed that on both floors. I checked carts and med rooms for proper stocking and expiration date checking especially on patients on insulin, that those bottles were kept in compliance. I cleaned up both floors and they ran much smoother and moral was up because I got them the help they needed by adding CNA’s to the shifts that they needed them. That’s just a tiny recap of what I did as the unit manager there. I followed outside appointments and ensure they were being seen, taking that return information and adding to orders and care plans. Risk management was a huge part and up to compliance by the time I left. Resident Care Director May 2024-September 2024
Faxon Woods, Quincy
As a resident care director, I came into the facility without having a a resident care director for over a year. I had to organize and bring the facility back up to code and compliance. I did this through a lot of training with my seasoned nurses who were not in compliance and hired a lot more nurses and aides and gave them strict training on what compliance this facility followed and repercussions would be taken if they feel out out of compliance. Overall, it went very well. I listened to the concerns of nurses and aides and made changes that were feasible and that helped with them following my new directions and outlook. Unfortunately it was only a contract position that I enjoy thoroughly and made great changes there. They passed their state inspection due to my compliance update. Harbor House June 2023-August 2024
Supervisor
At Harbor house as the nurse supervisor I provided a critical link between management and clinical care, overseeing pa>ent-care opera>ons, assigning and monitoring staff nurses and identifying and implementing quality improvements
• Nursing supervisors ensure that all hospital shifts are fully staffed for optimal patient safety. They work with staff members to attain a work-life balance.
• Nursing supervisors discipline staff members when necessary, using positive techniques that emphasize retraining and reteaching rather than punishment and embarrassment. Nursing supervisors also meet with other nurses, patients, family members and doctors to discuss individual cases and communicate issues. They also strive to create an atmosphere that encourages achievement throughout the staff and wellness in patients
