This was a private surgery practice owned and operated by the Chief Of General Surgery for Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA and his two (2) partners. I was the sole transcriptionist for the office. Once we transitioned into the age of voice recognition I assumed the responsibilities for purchasing all non-medical office supplies, pre- screening potential office staff candidates, managing the hospital and personal calendars for the physicians, managing a floater coverage calendar for vacations. I stepped away when the practice merged formally to become a Hospital Based Practice as my husband had fallen critically ill.
